Avery U. ★★★★★

My partner and I read this together and it sparked way better conversations than we'd been having on our own. The sections on communication and safety were the most useful part for us, honestly. Nice to finally have a book that treats the topic like it deserves real coverage.

John F. ★★★★★

I picked this up mostly for the history chapter and ended up reading the whole thing in two sittings. The section on gear and safety is refreshingly blunt, and the communication scripts gave my partner and me actual words to use instead of just vague advice.

Sophia ★★★★★

The writing here treats the subject with surprising humor and zero awkwardness, which made it way easier for us to actually have the conversation beforehand. I especially appreciated how they break down the historical context of the act itself, giving it a legitimacy that just feels respectful.
